Leadership Team
Michael Madden &
Lynn McMartin
Lynn and Michael Madden co-founded CARE in 2017.
Lynn worked at Le Moyne for over 30 years and established the college’s Human Resources Department, which she grew into a world class organization. Lynn who has always had a passion for helping seniors and Le Moyne’s retirees, co-founded CARE as a vehicle to serve that population. She has also played an active role in the broader Syracuse community, with involvement with RLS, Francis House and the Sister of St Francis. Lynn is a graduate of Champlain College in Vermont and prior to Le Moyne College held positions in Human Resources at General Electric, Erie Insurance Exchange, ETL Testing Labs, and Smith Corona.
Michael (’71) has been closely involved with Le Moyne College, his alma mater, over several decades. He served on the Board of Trustees for fourteen years, including four as Chairman. He established the Le Moyne Institute of Business in 1998 and in 2012 the Madden School of Business was named in his honor. Following his graduation from Le Moyne, Mike received his MBA from the Wharton School at U of Penn and began a twenty-five year career on Wall Street, where he ultimately headed three major investment banks. In 2005, Mike founded BlackEaglePartners, LLC, one of the most successful private equity firms of its size and vintage.
Kathryn Tovar '05
Director of Administrative
and Programming
Kate Tovar ('05) is a passionate ambassador for the aging community. With over a decade in the Human Services field, she had dedicated herself to being a resource and conduit for change. Prior to leading the establishment of CARE, she spent the last 10 years helping better the Greater Central New York community as a Case Manager for the Onondaga County Department of Social Services. In addition to her experience and leadership in community and social service, she is a certified Ombudsman through the New York State Office of Long Term Care and fervent supporter and regular volunteer for the Meals on Wheels program in Onondaga County. Driven to make real, positive change, she is committed to leading CARE to engage and support the aging community.
James Evans
Director of Outreach
and Engagement
James has 20 plus years of customer service and public relations experience. He has managed several retail stores and worked in the human services field for Onondaga County for the last decade. James comes to us ready and willing to help the aging community by establishing new relationships and growing the number of programs CARE currently offers.
Occupational Therapy Team
Paul Musso, OTR/L
Occupational Therapy Specialist
Paul Musso is a graduate of the Le Moyne College Master of Science in Occupational Therapy Program. During his time at Le Moyne he served as President of the Student Occupational Therapy Association and was actively engaged in community service. One volunteer opportunity he participated in was the Fall Prevention series at a variety of local retirement and senior activity facilities in the Syracuse area. He quickly developed a strong passion for working in this community-based model and enjoys helping people safely fulfill their desired roles and daily occupations. Upon becoming a registered and licensed Occupational Therapist, Paul became the Program Coordinator for the CARE Fall Prevention Program. He helped revamp the program to have a holistic focus on all areas of daily living. Le Moyne College instills the Jesuit idea of Cura Personalis, or caring for the whole person through education of the mind, body, and spirit. This is something that Paul exemplifies and tries to incorporate during each session of the CARE Fall Prevention Series.
Cayla Wright, OTR/L, CYT, CHN Occupational Therapy Specialist
Cayla completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at Le Moyne College. She earned her
Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy in May 2023. Cayla is passionate about preventative
care for the well being and health of others. She is a certified yoga instructor, teaching weekly
classes at Glow Yoga in Syracuse, NY, and a certified holistic nutritionist amplifying the services
she is able to provide to the CARE community. Her love for the health and wellness industry
drives her passion to enhance the lives of all individuals for a better, more fulfilling quality of
life.
Meghan Winje, OTR/L Occupational Therapy Specialist
Meghan earned her Master of Occupational Therapy at Le Moyne College in May, 2023. She has a passion for working with the adult and geriatric population including providing holistic
services to promote overall health and well-being. Additionally, Meghan is certified in
instructing Mat Pilates. She has lived in the Syracuse area her entire life and enjoys helping those who are part of her community. Meghan’s overarching goal is to provide preventive and holistic health to promote a healthy lifestyle and improved quality of life.
Matt Read
Matt Read teaches advertising, public relations and creative advertising at Le Moyne College. His expertise is borne from a career in the advertising and communications industry - starting out at Ogilvy & Mather in New York City, he has worked at Eric Mower + Associates and most recently served as the Chief Operating Officer for the Digital Hyve. He has experience in eldercare marketing, and a passion for helping the Le Moyne Community deliver on its mission. He has worked with a wide range of brands across a variety of B2B and B2C industries, including the American Dairy Association, Unilever, Aveda and Nationwide Insurance.
Sebastian Fredette
Sebastian Fredette is a video producer and live-stream engineer living in Syracuse, New York. He is a graduate of Le Moyne College and gained a breadth of experience working with Syracuse’s PBS affiliate station. His videography and editing are showcased in WCNY’s Emmy-nominated special Impact: Giveback. Sebastian co-founded Hillrun Media in 2021 and currently works at Le Moyne College as Multimedia Producer. Outside of work, he enjoys working on cars and mountain biking on local trails, but is never far from his camera.
Msgr. Yeazel
Monsignor Yeazel was born and raised on the Northeast side of Syracuse and graduated from Christian Brothers Academy in 1959. He graduated from St. Bernard’s Seminary in Rochester in 1963 with a B.A. degree, completed his studies for the priesthood in 1967 and was ordained a Roman Catholic Priest at the Cathedral in May of 1967. His first assignment was Associate Pastor at St. Patrick’s Binghamton from 1967-1970, followed by Associate Pastor at Cathedral in 1970. He completed his M.A. degree in Child and Family studies from Syracuse University in 1972. He received a Master of Divinity degree from St. Bernard’s Seminary as well.
Father Clifford Auth
cauth@syrdio.org Father Clifford Auth is Pastor for the churches of St. Mary’s and St. Augustine’s in Baldwinsville, New York. He serves on the Board of Trustees of Christian Brothers Academy and the Brady Faith Center in Syracuse, NY. He earned his licentiate degree in Cannon Law from Catholic University of Americas, his Master’s Divinity degree from St Mary’s Seminary and University and a bachelor’s degree in history and education at Le Moyne College..
